The Auxiliary of the Pocono Medical Center

The Auxiliary of the Pocono Medical Center has had a long and significant association with the Pocono Health Foundation.

In 1915, the Auxiliary held two annual donation days of produce and supplies, to help what was then known as Monroe County General Hospital get through the harsh winter months. Since then, many large-scale fund-raising projects have benefited Pocono Medical Center. Most recently, the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center, Clementine Abeloff Community Center, and ESSA Heart and Vascular Institute have been beneficiaries.

At its annual Membership Meeting, a check was presented to Pocono Medical Center President and CEO Kathleen E. Kuck, for $100,000, $50,000 of which will be donated to the development of a NICU at PMC and $50,000 of which will be donated to the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center. The money raised is the result of many hours of hard work that Auxiliary members donate throughout the year. Major annual fund-raising events include: the TV auction; the charity gala; and the poinsettia sale. Smaller projects include: the Valentine's Day sale; book and jewelry sales; a linen sale and a fashion show.
